Blind Video-Gamer

Brice Mellen is on G4 TechTV (Attack of the Show) right now. He plays Mario World and Mortal Combat and he’s blind. And in a few he’s going to play another sightless gamer in “the world’s first Sightless Gamer Mortal Kombat Challenge!” Here’s a link but they don’t really do show notes like they used to…

Olympus MP3/Camera (m:robe)

So I was kinda sad when I saw the commercial for the beautiful/sleek m:robe MR-500i (the Olympus MP3/camera). I’ve been raving about my photo iPod and now this thing comes along. But on The Screen Savers they just gave it a pretty bad review (no flash, no shutter button, 20 GB, very slow to download songs, $500). Looks beautiful was pretty much all they had to say that was good about it… And what’s up with the dumb name?

So I still feel pretty great about my iPod Photo (and isn’t that what really matters?).

The Screen Savers revisited

They messed with The Screen Savers again. They dumped Alex who I was just getting used to. Kevin stepped down to do geekier dark segments and they got another Kevin to replace him and Chi-Lan (whom I’ve seen on TSS before?). I guess they got rid of Dan (Foo) and Yoshi. And they dumped the fun opening too (at least so far)…

TGFT – The Screen Savers are Back

tss.g4So it’s the return of The Screen Savers! I haven’t been paying attention much since it’s been reruns. But they’re in the new studio in LA and raring to go. Patrick’s gone, and I’m sure the new guy, Alex, will grow on me. But Sarah :) and Kevin and Foo (Dan) and Yoshi are all back. I’ll miss Patrick, but he’s supposed to still have some kind of connection and he is in some of the promo photos still. Supposedly a few guest appearences from the old staff and other visitors…

I’m excited about getting my daily dose of tech news, that’ll be nice to have, I usually like the stories that they pick as being the good ones to share.

Leo Alert!

I just finished watching The Screen Savers and found out Leo is is leaving… I guess he’s going to do a lot of segments but it won’t be the same… He comments on it in his blog.

First Jessica and now Leo…

OQO – The true ‘Pocket PC’

How’s this: “The OQO computer has all the functionality of a ultraportable notebook computer, with a 1GHz processor, a 20GB hard drive, 256MB of RAM, color transflective display (for easy indoor and outdoor viewing), 802.11b wireless, a removable lithium-polymer battery, and FireWire™ and USB 1.1 ports. For input and navigation it includes thumb keyboard with TrackStik™ and mouse buttons as well as digital pen and thumbwheel.” It even has more than that! All in a handheld computer which fits in your pocket (I can’t find size specs on the web site).

CES and he showed it on TV a minute ago. It comes with a funky connector that has usb, firewire, svga and all the other ports you need (you can use this as a docking connector) It has a USB port built in so you can take a full size keyboard with you! I’ve been asking for this on palms for years!
