My Favorite Things – Sunday Brunch

1. What is your favorite color?
Hmm.. I usually work with beige’s and browns not ’cause I like them but because they are easier to match… MY favorite color lately has probably been orange. I’ve got a few short-sleeve shirts, but my favorite is the bright orange sweat shirt that looks like it belonged to a cone on the side of the highway.
2. What is your favorite piece of clothing?
I llike my docker-like pants with all the pockets. Places for my keys, phone, camera, money and other things that I don’t have a place to put them since I don’t have a purse.
3. Where is your favorite place to eat out?
There are two chinese places in Lansing that I like Charlie Kangs (Beef Broccoli or Sweet and sour Shrimp) and J.P. Express (Pineapple Chicken). Locally I’ve been liking Friday’s (see below) and the bar around the corner from my place, Bamboozle’s.
4. What is your favorite meal?
I’d have to say one of the few listed above and I’ve really been liking Friday’s for some of the Jack Daniel’s meals at Friday’s. The best is the Sesame Jack Chicken Strips.
5. What is your favorite sport or recreational game?
No. I’m more of a Dominoes (or recently Scene It? the DVD game) kind of guy. Oh wait, can I count rollerblading?

Do It Yourself – Sunday Brunch

  1. Fix a flat tire. No problem. I’m even faster than calling the auto club. (Unless it’s raining and my trunk is full of stuff).
  2. Fix a tear or make alterations to clothing. Not a chance.
  3. Unclog a severely plugged up sink or toilet. Semi-severely no problem. Anying worse I’d probably have to call out, but haven’t had to yet (knock on porcelain).
  4. Change the oil in your car. No problem. BUT it’s so much easier to just take it in.
  5. Put together an unassembled toy or piece of furniture out of the box. I’ll take furniture over the toy any day, but I’m sure I can do the toy too!

Potpourri – Sunday Brunch

  1. Which television series do you think had the best final episode? Hmm… Have I ever been happy with a final episode…? Maybe Roswell, it tied up a lot of loose ends and left some options for the future (books).
  2. Do you own something that you really should throw away but can’t part with? Thousands of things: old computers, comics and other collectables from years ago, and …
  3. Would you be willing to spend a night alone in a house that is supposedly haunted? Sure. Especially if there were a prize or even better if it were truly haunted.
  4. Go back to your childhood … What did you want to be when you grew up? Mailman, Magician, Policeman. Astronaut (the only reason I didn’t follow this was that I thought I could do it as a passenger). The best was a Magician first and then a Policeman so I could use the magic to catch the criminals. As an older child I considered Chef and Photographer before finally orbiting around computers and training and video “stuff”.
  5. What do you need to make your favorite pizza?

Let’s Go Shopping!

  • How often do you go grocery shopping? Once a week, maybe every other but it still requires a quick stop somewhere for the perishables (cantelope, eggs, milk, etc.)
  • What is the last thing you bought for yourself? Some wire and mounting stuff for my speakers, I’m rearranging the living room and want thinks set up differently. Oops, item 4 made me remember this. I forgot I bought the Guide to Mastering Regular Expressions. I’ll actually use this as long as I don’t forget where I put it.
  • What do you like shopping for most often? Electronic Gizmos.
  • Are you an impulse shopper? Sometimes. Usually not for the expensive toys. Impulse on book purchases on offbeat topics that I might never use.
  • What is the last item you purchased? Easter Napkins and an Easter Tablecloth.

  • More This and That – Sunday Brunch

    1. Are you organized or disorganized? Hmm… I keep my life more organized than my office(s) and my computer desktop. I usually have a plan as a move through life although people don’t think so.
    2. How well can you swim? I can tread water long enough (that’s long enough for any reason that I’eve ever had to or expect to).
    3. How often do you fill your gas tank? About once a week. It pleases me to fill it up and reset my little mileage counter. It’s like crossing an item off a list. I never pass up gas if it’s a really good deal (and then I brag about it!).
    4. Where is your favorite vacation spot? Jaco, on the west coast of Costa Rica. It’s nice and out of the way and it’s beautiful and warm. I like to stay at the Balcon Del Mar, it’s right by the water and all the rooms have a view of the ocean.
    5. What is you favorite animal to have as a pet? Fish. They’re quiet, peaceful and you get the nice gurgling and humming sounds from the aquarium :)

What Happens at the Equinox (at your house)? – Sunday Brunch

The calendar says it’s officially spring –

    1. Do you get a spring break? No. But most of the teachers and staff leave so it’s a nice time at work to get things done.
    2. Some of us are pretty casual about spring cleaning. Others go to it with a lot of gusto. Which are you? I’m due. My house is the absolute worst it’s every been! (It’s messy not dirty)
    3. Is planting flowers or a vegetable garden on the agenda? I’ll hang some on the railing of my condo (maybe). They better not need any water!
    4. Do you suffer from allergies and do they get worse in the spring? Yes I do. They generally do, but the seasons in Michigan haven’t been very cut and dry lately which doesn’t help any.
    5. How will you celebrate Easter this year? The family will get together most likely, generally a smaller gathering but many will be there. Maybe kidnap some kids to color some eggs and do the regular “stuff”.
