Oceans – Sunday Brunch

1) Have you ever swam in the ocean? If so, which ones?
Atlantic (from both sides, although technically I might have been in the english channel?) and Pacific at varying degrees of latitude.
2) Have you ever been snorkeling or scuba diving?
Never, although I think I’d like to learn.
3) Do you like traveling by boat and have you ever?
Yes. I did a small cruise up the coast of Alaska. I think I might like one warmer though…
4) Do you believe that Atlantis existed?
I’d like to think so, to believe other wise seems as if it would put some restraints on the imagination.
5) If you could live on the coast of any of the oceans, which ocean and which coast?
Pacific Ocean, west coast, south probably near Costa Rica. Although if someone was handing out villas I could probably deal with anywhere.

Colleges and Universities – Sunday Brunch

1) Did you go to college?
Yes! Four of them (only graduated from three of them).
2) Did you live in a dorm or an apartment?
I lived in the dorm for four years and I loved it! I only moved out because I needed more space (I would have stayed if I could have gotten the “apartment” that was in my building).
3) Who was your favorite roommate?
I’ve never had any in the dorm. In an apartment it was probably Wayne and Cheryl, we lived together for about three years (we had such opposite schedules most of my friends didn’t even believe I had roommates).
4) What is your favorite college sport?
Didn’t really do much with sports (watching or playing).
5) Who was your favorite professor and class?
Professor McClure, he taught the impossibly (for me) hard calculus classes I was required to take. I wouldn’t say those were my favorite classes though.

Ask not what you can do for your country. Ask what’s for lunch.

Orson Welles said that or at least according to Sunday Brunch he did.

1) Do you take your lunch hour at work?
Yes, I need that time to get out for a few…
2) What is your favorite place to eat lunch at?
I usually just rotate through the fast food resturants. I probably go to Arby’s or Wendy’s the most.
3) What do you usually eat for lunch?
Generally just a Coca-Cola and a sandwich.
4) Do you have anyone that you eat lunch with on a regular basis?
On a random-semi-irregular basis I get lunch with Sarah (who works in my building) or Kelly (who works in a different building) somewhere. Most of the time I’ll get lunch when I need to go between buildings (I work in a school district).
5) If not eating, what do you usually do on your lunch hour?
I always eat but I’ll usually read a book (sometimes a magazine) while I’m eating.

We Wanna Know – Sunday Brunch

1. Looking back on the past week, what was your favorite moment? I had a really nice day Friday, I took the day off because the weekend was supposed to be yucky (and it ended up being nice most of the time). Blading, happy hour, errands (crossed a lot off my list) Fireworks at The Henry Ford with Kelly, Liz and Thomas.
2. Tell us about funny moment that had you and others laughing ’til it hurt. My buddy Mark was moving and we we lifting some stuff of the edge of the patio (it was about 6 feet off the ground and very long, the door from the living room and bedroom open to it). Heather and I were pushing the mattress up and no one was there so I yelled for help. Mark comes running out, into the closed glass door (and I swear the glass bowed out a few inches) knocked himself silly and instead of opening the door and coming out, he ran around inside and came out the other door. Every time I saw him for the next few days (weeks) I just burst out laughing.
3. What is one of your favorite childhood memories?
4. Tell us about a time when you were traveling when things just didn’t work out as planned. Costa Rica – driving through the mountains to get to Mount Arenal (the world’s most active volcano). Driving around trying to find a hotel or food while avoiding the HUGE wacos (pot holes) by the time we found the place we had blown a tire and the hotel was all but closed. We convinced the guy at the desk who didn’t speak any english to get us some food because we we starving so bad (he didn’t even charge us). He chopped up mangos and fruit and all sorts of stuff for us what a crazy night.
5. Have you ever been in the middle major storm (blizzard/tornado/hurricane/earthquake)? If yes, tell us about it. Yes. Last minute I flew down to visit Christine (West Virgina) over New Year’s (about 5 years ago), I had flight issues (not weather related) just getting there and the day I went to leave there was a huge blizzard there and in Michigan. I’m pretty patient so I checked into a hotel and went to the mall (I figured movie, food, shopping, etc.). During the movie (Step Mom) they close the mall, but no one tells us, so now they have a bunch of emotional people trapped in the mall. All the restaurants are closed, everything is iced over. I took me three hours to get a cab to take me back to the hotel. The hotel had no indoor pool, no gift shop, just basic TV, even the airport which I went to a half dozen times didn’t even have anything. I had actually read all they books they had already (except for the romance novels). It was a disaster when I got back to Detroit, people were basically living in the airport, it was like something out a war movie with all the refugees, I’m not kidding that’s how I felt. When I went down to get my luggage there was luggage from the past few days there stacked 5 feet high. They conveyers were three pieces of luggage deep, when people grabbed luggage they couldn’t dislodge it and got dragged along. It was the only snow day they had the few years I worked at that school district and I missed it…

Fun In The Sun – Sunday Brunch

1. Do you prefer the beach or a pool?
Beach! Ocean!
2. What kind of tan are you most likely to get during the summer… a beautiful, bronze, laying out in the sun for hours tan; a gradual, few minutes a day tan; a “farmer tan” from working outdoors; or do you just get as red as a lobster and peel the next day?
I usually burn once per per year, the first time out and then I peal a little and then I’m fine after that.
3. Which summertime water activity are you more likely to enjoy the most… boating, jet skiing, waterskiing, swimming or floating down a lazy river on a tube?
Floating down the river. But I’d probably enjoy just sitting by the river and listen to the water rushing by…
4. What is your favorite picnic food?
Brats on the grill. And Coke.
5. Do you know how to cook on a barbeque grill?
You bet! I usually cook my non-breakfast meals on a grill.

A Bit On Birthdays – The Weekly Bit

1. When is your birthday?
September 11th.
2. As a child, how did you celebrate your birthday? How do you celebrate it now?
I’d have to say totally different every year. Some times a big deal, sometimes not.
3. Do you dread your b-day or do you still love having them?
They’re okay, don’t like them so much when I’m single.
4. What was your best birthday?
I’m not at liberty to reveal that in a public forum. But I do recall a birthday party with all the kids in the neighborhood when I was little (probably about five or six).
5. Did you ever get a gift that you didn’t like?
Sure, usually when people are over-compensating. I’m pretty happy with the little things. I just want to have a nice time.

Sunday Brunch is about birthday’s too, how odd…

An Auto-biography – Sunday Brunch

1. Who taught you how to drive?
My step-father taught me how to drive a motorcycle when I was younger (8?) that with I suppose with watching and sitting on someone’s lap when I was little, it was pretty simple to learn to drive. I took driver’s education classes but pretty much had it figured out before then. But all the extra stuff like merging politely and parking were from the class.
2. How old were you when you got your driver’s license?
Sixteen and a half.
3. What kind of vehicle(s) do you own?
Sebring convertible. I love it! I don’t ever want to have to own a non-convertible car again.
4. Is it an automatic or stick shift?
Automatic. Stick is way more fun, but it’s only fun when you’re not stuck in trtaffic…
5. Do you keep the inside of your vehicle sparkly clean, fairly clean or pretty much messy?
Mostly messy. In the summer I keep it a little cleaner for two reasons: Stuff tends to blow out (self-cleaning car) and if I keep it clean I know what’s in it so I can leave the roof down when I run into a store (etc.).
