Have a great a happy holiday and / or vacation!

Be nice to everyone!
It’s easier to smile than to frown (it’s a scientific fact) and the results are always better (another fact).
Drive safe!
If you’re a few minutes late everyone will still be there. (I promise).
Don’t fight with your parents! Or your kids!
It really doesn’t matter who’s right. (Although, I sure like to be right).
It’s not the dollar$ $pent, it’s really the thought.
It really is, think about the times you’re gotten a useless gift, or thought they spent too much. (Yes, I know it’s nice to get expensive gifts).
Be thankful for everything and everyone you have!
It’s all you have so take care of all of it and them.

Just smile and be nice to everyone as much as you can for the next few weeks…

GvholidaynightsSo I did get to go to the Holiday Nights in Greenfield Village. It was all snowy so I went this weekend! I don’t like to do these Christmassy, wintery things when there isn’t snow out.

It was cold but it was fun. I was hoping for more lights decorating things but since it was old fashioned and such a thing didn’t exist in those times I was disappointed on that part. But the “Sleigh Ride” (it actually had wheels) and al the kerosene lanterns and all the little fires and carolers and everyone dressed up old fashioned was fun! And the fireworks at the end made it all worth it! (It was really cold)

spideronmycarSo I decorated for Halloween. I saw this huge spider at Target and I knew I had to put it on my car. I wanted it on the front hood, but I thought I might get a ticket for something like that. So I put Harry, (hairy, get it?!?) on the trunk and it’s worked pretty good so far. When I get moving fast, he gets all scrunched down; it looks like he’s doing it on purpose.

I’m pretty happy that he hasn’t escaped yet (especially on the expressway). I haven’t noticed many people noticing, but since I’m busy driving..

So I enjoyed The Holiday but some parts were really really slow. There were parts that really appealed to my sense of humor, but I’d have a hard time recommending it. It’s got Kate Winslet (and Cameron Diaz) and I’ve always had a thing for Kate…

It’s the story of two women who need to get away due to recent men problems and end up doing a home swap. Cameron leaves her huge home in LA to stay in Kate’s tiny place in the little town in England (and vice-versa); Kate really made out on this deal. Of course they meet men and the story goes on from there. One of the parts I really really liked is when Kate was exhausted from the trip and the jet lag and wants to sleep but it’s bright since it’s the middle of the day. Then she find the magical switch that activates the room blinds which slide down and seal the room up likes it’s a bomb shelter it was awesome; that’s how I like to sleep, when it’s pitch black so I could really handle having something like that.

What else? Cameron makes movie previews for a living and that was cool, especially her daydreams about her life as a movie preview. I liked Jack Black’s part, when he’s not too goofy I like him, and the he was pretty good (a little less goofy would have been better, IMHO). The little girls were hysterical(!) but I won’t say anything else about them. That’s it, I wish it had been more exciting but that’s all I got, like I said, I enjoyed it…FYI, I read in the IMDB that “This film was written specifically with actors Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, and Jack Black in mind”

heartI hope everyone has a Happy Valentine’s Day! Try and make it a great day for everyone else too. Smile at everyone today!!!

And remember if you do get a card for someone they (she) really does look at the back to see if it says Hallmark.

And remember, some people take this day really seriously. So be nice to the extra-sappy people…Here’s some background on Valentine’s Day.

And some history(?) of the heart as a symbol.
