Daylight Savings again (ugh!)

Written By: Gary from http://GarySaid.com/ on October 26, 2005 3 Comments

This weekend, October 30th it’s time to adjust your clocks because of the Daylight Savings Time (DST) again. As always, I’ll express my displeasure with the whole DST thing. My solution – just move it a half hour in-between and leave it alone!! It’s rumored that it’s Ben Franklin’s fault but supposedly that’s not what he was trying to say. Read the WikiPedia entry and you can get a little more background.

At least it’s “fall back” (at 2am set your clocks for 1am) so I can get some extra sleep out of the deal.

PS: Don’t forget to send your DST greeting card.

I’m always so exhausted that I welcome the extra sleep… that is IF I’m not up until dawn using the extra hour for work.

I inevitably HATE DST in the spring, but I absolutely ADORE it in the fall. Being an academic geek, It’s right at that point in the semester where I could REALLY use that extra hour of sleep (hell, I could use that extra hour of sleep EVERY night!!)

I live in Indiana and we are not yet observing DST, but we will be observing next year. I can say I am not lokking forward to it. I am dreading the thought of changing all my clocks. On top of it all they are extending DST another 3 weeks. I have an idea, why don’t we just extend DST year round!!!!
