A Fine Frenzy – Live from the Artists Den

Speaking of A Fine Frenzy, here’s an 18 minute video/concert with four songs. Also, it’s available in 480p!

A Fine Frenzy performs songs from their new album in the renowned John Drew Theater at Guild Hall in East Hampton, New York.

The few times I’ve seen her has been in a really small venue, so it really evokes memories of the few times of when I’ve seen her in concert. I think the one place I saw her might have been only a little bigger than the stage.

The video has a few (very) small bits of her talking too…

Here’s the Hulu direct link to A Fine Frenzy – Live from the Artists Den.

UPDATE: Speaking of video. There is a video podcast calledBomb in a Birdcage – Track by Track that’s got a little behind the scenes video for all 11 tracks (30-90 seconds each) and it’s free.

TMI Weekly Video Podcast

So I just found a new video podcast called TMI Weekly, three women (life, tech, style) just doing a talk show type show. I watched about 5 episodes and I thought they were entertaining and informational. I actually found this because I saw it in the TiVo somewhere and all I had to do was click and I was subscribed on my TiVo.

I’m mentioning two non-similar episodes, both embedded below. One is the CES episode which held my interest and even the non-tech women seemed to have a blast.

Visit their site for the CES 2009 episode.

The other episode was dealing with drinking (eating?) a lot of juices. Way more than I think I could handle. But they made it sound appealing.

Visit their site for the Got Juice? episode.

I’ll check them out for a few more episodes. Or maybe dig through their past episodes. Their show is everywhere: iTunes, YouTube, MySpace, Twitter, etc…

On one episode they were wearing NonSociety T-shirts and when I went to that link the site (click on their personal blogs) it looked familiar, I know I’ve visited there at some time in the past, but I don’t remember when/what. It was before they started doing this show…

I’m Famous! (Okay, maybe more excited than famous)

So I know I’ve mentioned Adam Curry a few times. I really enjoy his show The Daily Source Code. They’ve got a number where you can leave comments and I’ve put the phone number in my phone a while back. I don’t think I’ve ever left a comment until this week (and I think I’ve left three).

Today I was listening and about 8 minutes in his was finishing this story about him flying a plane today (he flew solo from Belguim to England). At the end of the story I was wondering if everything in aviation was in feet (or maybe meters), his story used feet and he lives in England (although they use miles) but it seemed like there would be an international standard. So I called and left a voice mail as I hung up I thought, “Whenever I have something to say, I’m going to leave an message until he plays one of my comments”. So then I resumed playing the show and not 90 seconds later I hear my voice!!!! It was the comment I had left on Tuesday!!!

It was a really long comment and I’m pretty sure he played the whole thing. Unfortunately, I forgot to mention my blog address in the message, that would have probably picked up some traffic here. But then that’s not why I left the comment but extra traffic is always nice. I’ve been pretty geeked about being on the show all evening…

Here’s a link to the specific episode (and straight to the mp3), I’m about nine minutes in, shortly after the plane flying story at the beginning.

Another Podcast Test – The long way to JFK

So I’ve got this podcast with the enhanced images working!

Two kinds of podcasts:
this is the “better” enhanced AAC podcast (for iTunes, iPods and Quicktime).
this is the mp3 podcast (for everything else).

The enhanced file is a AAC/MP4 (m4a) file so you probably need an iPod or iTunes (or Quicktime) to see the images. The MP3 will just be on it’s own for any software/hardware player.

I now have both a Enhanced RSS Feed and a MP3 RSS Feed set up.

(If you get goofy characters you’ll need to save it to the computer first, sorry. This should be fixed, but you never know…)

I apologize to those using feed software, this (and the feed from the next podcast or two) will be goofy as revise and work out the bugs…

I got mentioned in Today’s Podcast!

So not only is one of my favorite podcast’s back in business (he’s been busy for the past 5 weeks) but I got a mention for suggesting today’s word, “Voilà!”, be sure to listen to the the audio (it’s only 74 seconds). Scott does Today’s Podcast which is generally “A brief daily podcast of words and quotes”. He’s always looking for words to do and even has a phone number where you can leave comments or messages. Be sure to check it out…

Stargate Atlantis Directors Commentary

As I mentioned in an earlier post that Battlestar Galactica is now podcasting a Directort’s Commentary, it now appears that Stargate Atlantis is doing the same thing. I wonder if this is the wave of things to come on the SciFi channel…?
