Sunset on Christmas Eve in Montezuma

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! I was down by the ocean this evening and the colors in the sky were looking great and I shot some video so I’m sharing my Christmas Eve with all of you…

It’s even prettier in HD.

Sadly, Montezuma is on the wrong side of the peninsula so this is all that I can see from here. But I still think the colors looked excellent tonight!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!! I’m off to watch Dr. Who…

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday today! I’d like a little more snow outside but other than that, it’s perfect. Lots of fun gifts and I think Mom liked everything I got her. More on some of the gifts later…

On a side note: One of my favorite things about Christmas (the last few years) is the Doctor Who Christmas Special! This year’s episode it titled “Voyage Of The Damned” (Starring Kylie Minogue) and takes place on the Titanic. So I’m hoping I can “tune in” to that tonight!

If you’re a Dr. Who fan you might be interested in this odd little Dr. Who 7 minute special, it takes place in the middle of the last 30 seconds of the season finale. Right after Martha walks out the door of the Tardis and right before the Titanic crashes in through the Tardis. A little mishap lets the Doctor meet one of his former selves (the 5th Doctor played by Peter Davison). It was part of a BBC “Children in Need” Special. If you don’t watch Dr. Who this clip will not be entertaining at all.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Have a Merry Christmas everyone!!! I hope everyone everywhere has a wonderful day!!!

I’ve got a few updates and a few things to cross off my list that I’ll be updating y’all the next few days…

Very Excited for the Holidays!!!

So I’m very excited about the holidays!!! Tomorrow my house will be packed with people. I’ve never had this many people in my condo so it’s going to be a tight fit. Twenty-eight people, I think about 10 will be kids and while I’ve generally got stuff for kids to do things, I don’t have much space for them to do it in, that’ll be the trick!

Saturday (the 23rd) will also be the closest to Christmas that my extended family (on my Mom’s side) has celebrated Christmas since 1997, I think every year before that we got that group together on Christmas Eve. That’s why I’m having it this year, I wanted it closer to Christmas and this way, I get my way :)

Well, I’m off. I’ve got a bunch of little things that need to be done, but enough of everything is done so I don’t have to worry about it. I think I’m done with all the kids except one (and I think that will require a call to his parents since I’m clueless).

Good Morning! Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

Merry Christmas!! I was going to try and sleep a little more but my mother is visiting and is downstairs trying to use the remote control to turn the lights on down there. But she keeps blinking lights (and relays) on and off in my room. Scared the crap out of me! I guess I should get up so we can eat and do the present thing. Yea!!!

Everyone have fun today and don’t forget to be nice to your family :)

I’ll have a report on some of my loot later…

Merry Christmas Eve

I’ve been out doing a little more shopping today, I didn’t think the stores were bad at all. Some stores had long queues but lots of registers open, so I didn’t wait much more than an average day. Plus, I cashed in one of my gift certificates and bought Makers: All Kinds of People Making Amazing Things In Their Backyard, Basement or Garage while at Borders (thanks!).

Everyone please drive safe and take care today. Be nice to your family even if they are making you cRaZy!

Christmas Eve

Mexican style food and appetizers for dinner were fun! The kids sure seemed to love it. To clarify these are kids that I bought gifts for last weekend’s holiday get together, so we’re just there to hang out and eat and watch the kids play (this is fine with me they’re hysterical to watch). So now the adults have wrapped up gift cards from the kids for me as a thanks (this isn’t normal). Which is great, I love gift cards, Target and Best Buy (like I’m not in those stores 3 times a week), I’m even conscientious about how I spend them; I won’t use them to fill my prescriptions, I’ll use them when I get music, movie or some accessory for my computer or iPod (then I can tell them what I got).

Okay so I digressed, again, but I buy the presents for the kids ’cause I want to. I find stuff I like and I’ll know they like and it makes me happy. I figure out what I wanted for one the girls and spent too much time/money on it, but it’s what I wanted, so it’s what I got. What I want (at most) is for the kids to make me something as a gift or thank you. Or to make sure you invite me to the birthdays, I don’t eat much and I bring good presents, what’s the problem…
Two of the points made me laugh since they apply to me:

  • It’s just that a geek’s approach to life tends to be if-x-then-y.
  • They don’t get hints.

  • Christmas Eve (day)

So it’s Chirstmas Eve (day) and I’m trying to finish stuff up. All I’ve got to get together is Mom’s loot and some clothes for tomorrow (and I’ve got to wrap Mom’s stuff still). I think everyone else that I’m seeing in the next 36 hours I’ve already exchanged gifts with (at least I hope so).

Tonight, Mom & I will go over my Aunt’s (or is it my cousin’s? they’re only three houses apart) and watch the kids go crazy, I think they’ll only be four of them (unless it’s at my cousin’s, where there might be kids-in-law). We’ll head to my Mom’s (eight or nine blocks away) and do presents and stuff in the morning. Then dinner with her boyfriend and then I’ll head home and let them do gifts, etc. Now that I’m thinking of it, he might be there tonight if he’s not working.

Every drive safe and have a great holiday!!!
