Hines Drive test photos

So it was a great day so I got a burger and went down to Hines Drive and ate my lunch and took some photos with my new camera. I really like the camera and part of why I like it is why some people won’t like it, it’s got the manual controls. These controls let you make all sorts of adjustments and you can easily get more control over your photos.

Thats the same spot with pretty much no camera movement (although the dog and it’s owner did move). Now I’m not saying you can’t do this with a regular digital, it’s actually pretty easy to do in this sample case, but you kinda have to cheat to do it. The camera just makes it a whole lot easier to do.

I got my new camera

So I got my Canon Digital Rebel XT 8MP Digital SLR Camera (with an 18-55mm Lens) and I really like it! I’ve wanted it for a while but it’s the upcomming Egypt trip that inspired me to finally purchase it. (This was also one of the items on my 101 in 1001 items list so you can read a little more about the purchase itself in it’s completed entry over there.) So I got it with the 2GB card (and a spare 512MB) and the last few days I picked up a mini memory reader, a case, a filter (mostly to protect the lens) and one of those things with the rubber band around the lens to hang onto the lens cap so you don’t leave it anywhere.

1 2 3 4 5 6…

On Wed. Apr. 5, 2006, at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 in the morning, the time and date will be 01:02:03 04/05/06.

Found at Amy’s.

Let’s play where’s the banana…

So this morning I grabbed a banana to take to work. Later in the day it hit me, “where’s the banana?” I never did have it turn up before I left. Now that I’m home, something smells like something’s rotting a little and I can’t figure it out.

I’m wondering if there’s a connection…

They’ve needed something like this for a long time!

Wireless extension cordsThe problem with all my electronic gadgets is getting power to them all. I’ve thought about wireless speakers but you still have to get power to them where ever they are. They’ve finally figured out a way to use microwaves (7.2GHz range) to “beam” power from an outlet to another location in the same room (line of sight). These wireless extension cords should have a range of 100 feet (although ThinkGeek says they’ve tested them up to 300 feet) which is way more than enough. This will totally change the way I’ve got my living room configured! (And they’re only $34.95!)

I want a new drug…

Ah yes, sunshine is my favorite drug!

So the results of the School auction are in!!! Actually all thats in is my results. I’ve got lots of items I bid on and many I lost, I won way too much chocolate and lots way to many margarita baskets… And me in the cat suit weere also bid on (see below). So my loot consisted of:

  • A small fancy chocolate basket that I bid high on
  • A much larger chocolate basket I paid not so much for (something I was kinda disappointed with that I got after getting the first, although mom loves chocolate).
  • A hiking basket backpack with compase and trail snacks and a cool water bottle holder that I thought would be great for my trip to Egypt. I won’t bring the backpack but the trail snacks and compas and water bottle will make the trek.
  • A basket full of board games that I haven’t even checked out yet. But I know it’s got one in there that someone wants for their birthday.
