So the more I think about this the more I’m bummed I didn’t think of it. This guy, Alex, is doing a web page and he’s selling pixels for $1 a piece (minimum 100 pixels). He’s sold $100,000 worth so far so he’s well on his way to paying for college. Sure it’s a gimmick, but it’s working :)
My guess is that he’ll top out at 1/4 to 1/3 of a million (400,000 tops) at some point it’s gotta get visually unappaealing.
What do you think about these new web sites selling pixels? I’ve just put mine online, Bloc de pub, at http://www.blocdepub.com, in french, and i’m trying to promote it on the Web. And I also make it cheaper, only 10 euros for a bloc of 10×10 pixels, to allow more people to advertise on it (like blogs or personnal web site). I just think 100$ for a bloc (what the other sites are doing) is quite expensive for an individual who has his own personnal web site !
Do you think this can of web site can last for a long time or it’s juste a temporary web site ?
