1] Would you accept $1,000,000 to leave your country and never step foot in it again? Why/why not?
If I could get a waiver to come back for when my Mom needs me (older/sick/etc.), I’d take the deal! Where do I sign?!? I like it here, but to retire and go live somewhere and the only work I’d have to do is stuff I’d like and live off the rest, I’m already packing the bags and booking my flight to Costa Rica (or wherever).

2] If your friends and acquaintances were willing to bluntly and honestly tell you what they really thought of you, would you want them to? Why/why not? Do you feel that your friends and family members *already* are pretty honest with you?
I’m hoping if there is something that would be a shock that I’d have already been told by now, so it wouldn’t be a shock. So I’m assuming they are already, but you never know…

3] You notice a severe, self-destructive behavior pattern in a friend who is clearly unaware of it. Would you point it out? Why/why not?
Heck yeah! Why? Because it’s self-desructive, that’s why.

4] If you could script the basic plot for the dream you will have tonight, what would the story be?
Sorry, I try to keep this blog rated G (or even PG).

5] How often do you step back and reflect upon the way you are living and where you are headed? Do you often set goals for yourself? Why/why not?
Yeah, but they haven’t been being met lately. Most of them revolve around dating or children so some of it’s a little out of my control… But I’m back into looking into adopting again. A co-worker just did it and seems happy with the organization she worked with.

I’m actually doing a Friday Meme on Friday, what are the odds of that?!?

So I found this cool meme and the object is to make a list of 101 goals and get them done in 1001 days. I’m going to put something together and see how far I get. This ties in with today’s Friday Forum (goals and reflections) and 9/11 (no, not that 9/11, the other one).

Actually, I didn’t find it Sarah did.

1) What haven’t you done yet in your life that you’d really like to do someday? Why? Will you do any of those things in the near future? Are you making progress toward them?
I’d really like to get married and have kids. It’s just something I feel I should do. I’d make a great Dad, everyone says so. I’ll probably adopt if I don’t ever get married.
2) If you could completely start your life over from scratch, what would you do differently the second time around (if anything)? Why?
What would I do differently..? I might have not let a few of the good girlfriends “get away”. I didn’t date much when I was younger so I didn’t really know what I was doing once I met some great women. Also, I’d definitely do a few different things when the Internet came around again; I totally missed the chance to be an Internet millionaire.

3) What do you think you’ll be like when you’re 70, 80, 90, possibly even 100 years old? Where do you think you’ll be living, and what activities do you think you’ll enjoy?
Hopefully, I’ll have a nice home by the water (lake, ocean, river or waterfall). Me and the (future) Missus’ with the kid(s) and grandkids visiting us…
4) What ages do you think have been the best for you so far? Why? What do you think of your current age … are you enjoying it? Are you looking forward to your next birthday?
I really enjoyed my early twenties, when I was away at college, I love learning and that’s really where I learned how to enjoy dating.

1) Are you taking a summer vacation this year? If so, where are you heading? If you already went on vacation, where did you go?
London, England!!!!
2) Planes, trains, or automobiles…what is your preferred mode of transportation to get to your vacation get-away?
I absolutely love the train. Lots of room, no waiting, no running around (the airport) lots of time to relax and get stuff done.
3) Any vacation locales you would recommend for those looking for ideas?
Costa Rica! I like the Jaco area on the Pacific side of the country.
4) What US city/state have you never been to but would love to visit?
Hawaii would be a nice trip.
5) What international city/country have you never been to but would love to visit?
Paris, France. I’ve always wanted to go.

1] You’re making a CD mix titled, “The Soundtrack of My Life.” Which songs would you include, and why?
Specific songs? I don’t know all of the titles but I know I’d start with one or two from each of the following. Tori Amos (something from the early years), Indigo Girls (early), Sarah Mclachlan (two or three from Sufacing?), Carly Simon (the cover she did of the theme from Casablanca), Jewel (the first two albums), Alanis (the one of the City of Angels soundtrack), Big Bird doing the ABC song. I might look up specifics later, but it’s been a long week…
2] What is your favorite song right now?
Probably one of the new Liz Phair songs, she’s been getting a lot of play by me lately. Maybe “My Favorite Underwear” that one always makes me smile.
3] You’re feeling down, sad, lonely, frustrated, angry … which song[s] do you play to help yourself feel better?
Usually some older stuff. Either an 80’s retro mix (the more dance type stuff, but always including Tainted Love) or a GoGo’s deluxe mix (GoGo’s, Jane Weidlan, Belinda, The Graces all shuffled up).
4] Do you watch the TV show “American Idol”? Why/why not? Who do you think will win the competition?
Not at all. It just doesn’t pose any interest to me.
5] Do most of your friends generally share your taste in music?
A lot of my female college friends like the earthier stuff, the guy friends liked the retro 80’s stuff. Current friends all like a little bit of one part and someone likes part of another.

I keep thinking am I picking songs from various eras to be the sound track or do I actually want to words to convey my life? I’m sure I’m over thinking this… But I’ve got a little bit of both…
