A strange title since I think of “Jumping the shark” as when a TV show starts to go downhill. (I guess that goes with item four but most of the questions were water related.) As in when on Happy Days when they did the stunt with Fonzie jumping the shark to attract viewers it pretty much had hit it’s low point and there was no turning back.

The Friday Five has been retired. It was one of the first questionnaire memes that I ever did. I’m sad that it is gone…

1. What do you do for a living? I’m the Director of Technology for a school district, which means if it plugs in (unless it cooks food or heats/cools the building) it’s the problem of my department.

2. What do you like most about your job? Getting people excited about using tech in their day. Getting some tool put together for someone to use that makes their life easier.
3. What do you like least about your job? When I tell someone “I don’t know” and they reword the question a dozen different ways because the seem to thin I don’t. Telling someone the right answer (“I do know”) and them not believing that it is the way to go.
4. When you have a bad day at work it’s usually because _____… There just isn’t enough time to get everything fixed.
5. What other career(s) are you interested in? I love seeing the kids at school. I’d love to just do day care but I don’t think that would a good job to help me with my technology habit. Dream job would be to teach kindergarten in the morning and advance computers at the high school in the afternoon or be an astronaut.

If time and money were infinite, what are the five things you’d love to learn how to do?
1. Learn how to raise a child (via doing it).
2. Travel into outer space.

4. Program my own computer operating system.

I’m not sure if this is my ‘regular’ Friday Five or a different one. It’s delayed since I couldn’t find it on Friday.

For those of you who don’t know, the Friday Five is a list of five questions posted weekly for people to answer/discuss/etc. in their blogs. I’m going to try and start doing this weekly.

1. …owned a restaurant, what kind of food would you serve? Breakfast all day. It’s my favorite meal. Besides that I always thought I’d change the theme each month. Of course it would have Coca-Cola and WiFi too.

2. …owned a small store, what kind of merchandise would you sell? Books (with a cafe) or computers. The computers would either be highly specialized treatment with training for the big bucks or something on the opposite end where I’d be offering training to the community.

3. ..wrote a book, what genre would it be? Computers/technology. Probably a general understanding one, not a real geeky one although I’d like to do that too.

4. …ran a school, what would you teach? Advanced computers or kindergarten. It’s two different ends of the spectrum, but my dream job would be a 1/2 day of kindergarten and then teaching advanced computers in high school the other half (or maybe 5th grade computers in the same building).

5. …recorded an album, what kind of music would be on it? Really bad music. I don’t think this would ever happen.
