What first got you started blogging?
Heather was doing it so I had thought about it a little bit. Then I started watching Joan of Arcadia and used it as my motivation to start blogging.
How often do you post to your blog?
I think I average about 10 posts a week.
Do you have more than one blog and if so, how are they each different?
I’m working on some more (more techy ones) but just need to do the last little bit. So it’s really just the main one.
Where did you first hear about memes?
I probably saw them on someone else site, I’m not really sure.
Do you remember the first meme you participated in and if so, what was it?
Either the Scrabble one (I think I first saw it on Heather’s) or The (original) Friday Five (now deceased).
Do you run any memes yourself and if so what are they?
I don’t run any memes, but I do run The Daily Meme.
How did you find this meme?
It was submitted to The Daily Memee so I had easy access to it.

From the brand new meme theGhost Works Virtual Hash.

Who is your favourite superhero?
Cyclops from the X-men. He had the interesting powers (and the coolest girlfriend) but also the downside of the goofy goggles.
If you were a superhero, which one would you be?
Superman, he’s got it all.
Justice League or Injustice League?
Which supervillain would you be?
“Lex Luthor, the greatest criminal mind in the world.”
If you could have superpowers, what would they be?
Teleportation would be handy. Not as exciting as flying but probably a lot easier to incorporate into my “normal” life. I could live anywhere and work anywhere and it wouldn’t matter…

1. Have you ever been to the ocean?
Yes. The Atlantic and the Pacific. I’ve swam in them both multiple times.
2. When is the last time you wore a swimsuit?
I think the last time I had a swimsuit on was about fifteen months ago. I was swimming in the English Channel at the time. (I said in not across.

3. Do you respect people more for staying through difficult times or knowing when to call it quits?
We’ll those can easily be mutually exclusive. I think they need to stick with it for a bit before they quit. If they quit/give up they lose a little respest and a lot of sympathy…
4. Name a TV show that made a huge splash in the beginning, but has since gone downhill:
I’d have to say The West Wing. But it’s definetly started to pick back up, but it’s still not the same.
5. Have you ever eaten shark?
Yes. Shark tacos actually. I’m thinking it was at P.T. O’Malley’s when they used to be on Grand River. I could be wrong on that, it might have been a bar that popped up at the same location after P.T.’s moved to Abbott.

From the Friday Fiver.

A strange title since I think of “Jumping the shark” as when a TV show starts to go downhill. (I guess that goes with item four but most of the questions were water related.) As in when on Happy Days when they did the stunt with Fonzie jumping the shark to attract viewers it pretty much had hit it’s low point and there was no turning back.

1. What’s the last item you mailed?
Last week I mailed a newspaper article to my Mom that mentioned me in it. She still likes to get stuff like that (at least I think she does).
2. Who has made you smile recently?
Last night I played with a friend’s 2 year old for a while and he was a lot of fun.
3. What’s the weather like outside?
Beautiful! Very sunny but still a little cool. I just went for a walk with Heather (who’s in town this weekend).
4. Do you consider youself a good judge of character?
Generally I’m a good judge. If I’m wrong, it doesn’t take long to figure it out.
5. What’s your favorite photograph?
I really like the one I just got of my cousin’s twins a few weeks ago! I’m sure I have all time favorite but none come to mind right now.

1. Who do you owe?
Just the mortgage company. Probably about $100,000 still. I also owe for some retirement year purchases which will be paid off at the same time it’s time to retire. Actually paying it off will let me retire fiver years early.
2. Does anyone owe you?
I don’t think anyone owes mw anything at this time.
3. How many credit cards to you have?
Four; I generally just use two, the MasterCard and Kohl’s (Kohl’s gives me good rewards). They all (bills, mortgage and charge card) get paid off automatically every month. This forces me to make sure I have the money in the bank…

4. Do you care about national debt?
Yes. But I’ll help them crank it up some more if we can get more money for schools and the poor people who don’t have enough.
5. Would your friends be surprised if they accidently saw the balance in your checkbook?

I don’t so. They be surprised on how I organizes it. Different accounts for vacation, technology, yearly bills and future car purchase, etc…

  1. What do you do for a living? I’m the Director of Technology for a school district, which means if it plugs in (unless it cooks food or heats/cools the building) it’s the problem of my department.
  2. What do you like most about your job? Getting people excited about using tech in their day. Getting some tool put together for someone to use that makes their life easier.
  3. What do you like least about your job? When I tell someone “I don’t know” and they reword the question a dozen different ways because the seem to thin I don’t. Telling someone the right answer (“I do know”) and them not believing that it is the way to go.
  4. When you have a bad day at work it’s usually because _____… There just isn’t enough time to get everything fixed.
  5. What other career(s) are you interested in? I love seeing the kids at school. I’d love to just do day care but I don’t think that would a good job to help me with my technology habit. Dream job would be to teach kindergarten in the morning and advance computers at the high school in the afternoon or be an astronaut.

If time and money were infinite, what are the five things you’d love to learn how to do?

  1. Learn how to raise a child (via doing it).
  2. Travel into outer space.
  3. Write a book.
  4. Program my own computer operating system.
  5. Learn to Paint.
Which of these do you think you’ll do anyway, no matter what the economic and temporal restraints are?

  1. Raise a child.
  2. Write a book.
  3. Travel to outer space (if they ever open up public travel.)

I’m not sure if this is my ‘regular’ Friday Five or a different one. It’s delayed since I couldn’t find it on Friday.

For those of you who don’t know, the Friday Five is a list of five questions posted weekly for people to answer/discuss/etc. in their blogs. I’m going to try and start doing this weekly.

    If you…

  1. …owned a restaurant, what kind of food would you serve? Breakfast all day. It’s my favorite meal. Besides that I always thought I’d change the theme each month. Of course it would have Coca-Cola and WiFi too.

  2. …owned a small store, what kind of merchandise would you sell? Books (with a cafe) or computers. The computers would either be highly specialized treatment with training for the big bucks or something on the opposite end where I’d be offering training to the community.

  3. ..wrote a book, what genre would it be? Computers/technology. Probably a general understanding one, not a real geeky one although I’d like to do that too.

  4. …ran a school, what would you teach? Advanced computers or kindergarten. It’s two different ends of the spectrum, but my dream job would be a 1/2 day of kindergarten and then teaching advanced computers in high school the other half (or maybe 5th grade computers in the same building).

  5. …recorded an album, what kind of music would be on it? Really bad music. I don’t think this would ever happen.
