Tori Amos Concert

So I was just reading another blog (Glimpse of a Girl) and she has her review of the Tori concert and I realized I never said anything about it when I went last week! I think it was Thursday the 14th of April.

It was great!! The seats were really good, row M to the right, you always want to sit on the right at a Tori concert if you have a chance since she usually faces that way. She generally has two keyboards but plays most songs on the (baby?) grand on the right. This time was different she had four keyboards of various types and was constantly bouncing around so it offered a better view for others but the right was still the place to be… Tori Amos

Smash Mouth

Smashmouth 2005
So I didn’t say much about Smashmouth (did I say anything?) who we saw a few nights ago. They did a private concert sponsored by RealOne/RealPlayer/RealAudio in The House of Blues which which was a smaller club. They were fun, I knew their hits and they played some older “stuff” (a few Van Halen and I can’t think of what else. The lead singer’s Dad (or older brother) was there, he was having a good old time too :)

Katy Rose

katyrose53Went to Chicks with Attitude tonight. Unfortunately we only caught part of Katy Rose on stage, she had already started when we got there, I really enjoyed her singing. She was great and really diverse in the songs that we heard. I did buy her CD Because I Can, got to say HI and had her autograph the CD too. She has that album out, a two track single, she did a song on the Mean Girls soundtrack and one on the Thirteen soundtrack.

Anyone planning on going to see Liz Phair and Co. on Friday the 27th in the Detroit area? We’re doing Happy Hour at my place (Dearborn) and then we’re heading on over to the concert in Royal Oak. If you want to stop by beforehand (or meet up when you get there) let me know.

I finally got some photos posted from the concert last week. Was playing with the photo viewer so I could use it for my vacation photos.

Later: This flash player never worked perfect. Still doesn’t on some computers. Never used it much after this trip.

Shawn Colvin AND Cowboy Junkies!

I was dead center and so close the only seat that might have better was the one behind me.

Both in Rochester, Michigan at Meadowbrook!

SC came out first she was excellent. I have many albums of hers but I haven’t seen her. Even the songs I didn’t know were wonderful. She brought out her six year old daughter, Callie, at the end who scampered off as soon as Mom set her down.

CJ are great too! I’ve seen them but not so close. Margo dances all around and I never realized she was so beautiful.. Oh yeah, the other five band members are great too. :)

Well, back to the concert… (I’ll try and post pictures in the next day)

It was great!

igstill200406The Indigo Girls, as usual were excellent, I’m glad I got out there, problems and all. Fun people to chat with on all sides of me. Good sound at the theater (used to be Freedom Hill). Not very busy though and they didn’t play Romeo & Juliet, but they rarely do any more….

Here is a short clip from the concert 8MB. All the stills I tried were really cruddy.

Indigo Girls – Part Deux

Here I am at the Indigo Girls concert after a wretched car ride in rush hour AND running out of gas near the world’s loooongest exit ramp.

I am now in the the eleventh row dead center!!! Can’t complain too much about that (other than when I called earlier, they had row 2!).

After some pizza and a few large ‘beverages’, I’m relaxed and ready for thls boy band to finish up and for Emily & Amy to come out.

And cross your fingers for me that she’ll play R & J for me…
