One of another from my painted rocks series from Evanston, IL. This one was a unique one in that in was a two part rock. One with a question and one with a Yes/No option to complete. It’s a unique way to propose and I’m all for that. It was interesting because the rock looked old.
But take a look at the corner of the first photo, there’s a date and I’d assume it’s the date he asked. Obviously that’s not the case, it’s in the future (at least it was when I wrote this). Why would that be? If Maggie is busy that weekend it’s a no go? It wasn’t on the rock where she was to put her answer. Anyone going to a wedding in two weeks for Maggie?
So this seemed like an interesting story so I googled the ‘net and the closest thing I found was at a prom dedication site. (Very strange.)
LATER: It bothered me that it was word for word when I found it on-line. So I googled it without Maggie’s name and realized it’s the chorus of a George Strait song (I believe written by Danny A. Wells/Dana Hunt Oglesby).
I still want to know about the wedding…
What a romantic use for a rock!! :-)
Oh baby, thanks for the rock.
Wow. I never thought of it as a “rock”…
I was trying to remember if that was a song or some line someone had used on me once.
And thanks for the Prom Site! I just invited Constantine Maroulis to the prom. Think he’ll go?
