Last night…
When I walked in last night I noticed the garage door closer opener made a funny noise. I thought maybe I didn’t pull the car in far enough but when I looked it seemed fine. You do see where this story is going, don’t you? Today when I opened the garage door it stopped just even with the back bumper. I’ve got a stupid ball hanging from a string so I pull up far enough and sure enough, I wasn’t up far enough. So now I’ve got a great big gouge in the back bumper (and two little ones). And I had done so well keeping this car in good shape so far.

I use to have a ball on a string until the ball fell off. Now I just have a string. It blows around, making it useless for navigational purposes. So now I just drive forward, slowly, until I feel the front bumper touch the cabinet against the back wall. That’s my version of driving by Braille. So far, no damage. At least not much.
OH NOOOOOO…..that’s awful. One year my father was forced to do something like that with the ball on a string because my mother kept messing up the car when she would pull in the garage. Of course the ball/string didn’t help much when she was backing out of the garage one day and was too close to the garage and took off one of the side mirrors.
that’s why I don’t use my garage. although my vehicle would be nice and dry and warm all the time, it would also be all dinged up and mirror-less.
