Is that for a dot com? My dot co. dot uk only costs me a few GBP anyway but here a dot com is alot more.
True, I have a dot.com and several dot.co.uk’s.
dot.com is not cheap to buy, but dot.co.uk and also dot.org.uk is practically nothing at all.
Is it valid in the US only?
Maybe I should investigate this one further…
I would guess it’s valid anywhere. As long as your plastic is good!
Once you’ve got the 2 DNS items to the right. It’s cheaper (almost free) to give out the items to the left. I’d have to assume that’s similar for the levels like .co.uk
If I owned co.com I could use (or sell) as many of the domains like gemmak.co.com and aproductofthe80s.co.com (or even gemmak.garysaid.com and aproductofthe80s.garysaid.com) for very little cost. I’ve still got to host it and have a DNS provider with unlimited domain names (most have limits). But still, very little cost. That’s why hosting providers will give you those types of names for free (like garylapointe.typepad.com), and you’d never switch away since your web identity is now tied to their host.
I could be slightly wrong on the rules of the above, but conceptually it’s mostly on track…
Bummer, the price on these just went up to $4.98, I think it still might be the best price for something that you can sign up for up to 5 years.
I didn’t notice until after I bought one last name…
Domain Names $2.99
Once again, Yahoo is having a killer deal with domain name registration. Only $2.99 a year and they let you register for up to five years! Get your name, your kid’s name or business name before someone snatches it up. Usually it’s $9.95 but quite often…
