Rider, Alex Rider

So I've started reading these books Stormbreaker, Point Blank and Skeleton Key.

Alex Rider
Alex Rider, who as all good kid characters happen to be is an orphan, ends up being a junior spy for MI-6 (spy group in London). It's a kid's book, so you need a little suspension of disbelief, but it's really well done. It's even educational at times (I learned a bit about the breakup of Russia). He even gets some neat spy gizmos to carry around (no guns). The books do build on each other so be sure to read them in order (Stormbreaker is the first). Also to keep in mind is that I think each book has been better than the previous one, so if you only like the first one a little, give the next one a chance. The author's name is Anthony Horowitz (I just realized I left that out, March 18th, 2005)

I really like the Alex Rider books too. I've read them all so far and I can't wait to read Scorpia.

I love young adult books; read them all the time. Just finished listening to some Tamora Pierce trilogy from Audible.com on my iPod. There's something reassuring and good about a YA book - sometimes you enjoy a lack of sex and violence in your fiction!

well my copy of scorpia arrived today -- thank god. just in time for the weekend (i'm grounded so a book will come in handy) anyway...have you seen alexrideradventures.com? it's a website dedicated to alex rider. the author has a cool website too.

Alex Rider and Harry Potter: So I've always thought there were connections between Alex Rider and Harry Potter. Young English boys who are orphans and get to go on the adventure of a lifetime. Harry gets to be a wizard and Alex gets to be a secret agent. Both had father's in the business but didn't get to know them (or all the secrets). Plus they're always getting injured...

NEW RULE: No HTML code is allowed (URLs are okay).

No HTML is allowed (it's used too much by spammers). You may list site URLs in the comments with "http://" in front of it (and I'll automatically link it) but do not put href tags around it or the whole message will be blocked. Sorry, but the spammers were really starting to annoy me.

If you want a Gravatar icon (square images) to show up next to your comment (like these), be sure to register at http://gravatar.com/.

If you want a web site thumbnail (rectangular images) to show up next to your comment (like these), be sure to submit your link (you must add yourself to the DMOZ.org directory too) for Thumbnails by Thumbshots.org.

It's Free! Even if you register later, it'll magically show up here. (Gravatars take precedence over Thumbshots.)

Rules: It's my blog so what I say goes. This means I can delete or edit posts that are offensive, have bad grammar, promote something not related to the post or that I just feel like fixing or deleting. Pretty much if you play nice I'm not going to mess with your comment (why would I?).
Spammers: My filters, lookups and verification stops more than 99.99% of spam; I will report you to the various spam collection sites / authorities (there must be a better word for this) so don't post here.

Privacy: While I don't post your e-mail address, nor will I sell your info, I may send you an announcement if I ever change my web address or start a new blog or something like that (I had someone complain about sending a notification once, so this is my disclaimer).
