So it looks like the election’s over. No final counts yet but it’s close 51%/48% (and I’m assuming it’ll be Bush) but either way I hope the winner doesn’t get too smug, it was pretty close. My point here is that really close to half of the country voted for the other guy. That means half of the people care about the other issues enough to go vote. I hope the that the winner keeps this in mind when making decisions — that many people aren’t thrilled with their way of doing things…

That wasn’t just an American election; that was an international election, but The problem was only American could vote!
That was a very diplomatic way of putting it. I’m from California and I don’t hear it put quite that nicely here. It comes out a little more hostile than that.
But it is a very good point that you make and one that will hopefully be taken into consideration over the next 4 years.
Easy for some to say, but my agency which helps victims of domestic violence and many other social service agencies in our area are now looking at losing major funding. We may not survive this financial blow. King Bush sees fit to take money from the poor and give it to the wealthy corporations. Also, as a single mom, I have seen expenses rising for education and healthcare. My childcare assistance was cut off and I just paid $50 for an antibiotic after a $20 copay at the doctor. Don’t even get me started on the war….. Its a travesty and I won’t accept it. He is not MY president.
Yep.
Definitely less hostile than how I put it. ;-)
