Bluetooth Headset on my Macintosh?

Does anyone use a bluetooth headset with their Macintosh that will let you listen to music and function as a microphone? If so, which model? and how much do you like it?

To be clear I want this to directly communicate with my Macintosh audio input/outputs without any wires/hookups, just via the bluetooth signal built into my powerbook and the headset.

I just bought the coolest monitor…

SharplcdI’ve been wanting a LCD monitor for my other computer. Hadn’t seen any great deals since I made the decision. Then I saw an awesome price (read below) on this 15“ Sharp LCD TV with built-in TV (antenna or cable) w/CC and RCA video and S-video and a headphone jack and a remote (batteries included) and built-in speakers…

The Broker

So I read The Broker by John Grisham. It starts a little slow (and a little confusing) but really picks up. It’s a lot of chase/run/hide/chase/run, some twists, a little bit of hi-tech (no law) and some spies. During the relocation the learning of a new language is a very interesting sub-plot of the story. Once again I don’t want to give too much away so you get the mini-review. If you like Grisham you’ll like this.

Shipping and Handling

You know how when you really want something and it takes F O R E V E R to get shipped? This isn’t about that. This item (unfortunately) shipped (almost) before I actually ordered it.

So the last time I ordered something from Apple it was a present for Heather and I had it shipped to her place (FYI, it made good time). So I ordered myself something from there last night. As soon as I hit send I realized it was going to ship to Heather’s place, 90 seconds later I’m on the phone explaining the problem. He says he just submits it to the folks who fix it, it 12 hours I’ll get an e-mail knowing if they did. (Can you see where this story is going?) So at 5 am it ships to the wrong address (of course). I don’t think I’ve every had an Apple product ship so fast for me.

PS – At 12:47 PM I got an e-mail letting me know they couldn’t change the address… Sigh…

Free Louis L’Amour Audio Books

It’s a free hour long Louis L’Amour book (at the iTunes Store), it’s called Merrano of the Dry Country. I haven’t even listened to it yet I just wanted you to have a chance at it (before it’s not free any more).

DOESN’T APPEAR TO BE AVAILABLE ANYMORE.

Rider, Alex Rider

So I’ve started reading these books Stormbreaker, Point Blank and Skeleton Key.

Alex Rider, who as all good kid characters happen to be is an orphan, ends up being a junior spy for MI-6 (spy group in London). It’s a kid’s book, so you need a little suspension of disbelief, but it’s really well done. It’s even educational at times (I learned a bit about the breakup of Russia). He even gets some neat spy gizmos to carry around (no guns). The books do build on each other so be sure to read them in order (Stormbreaker is the first). Also to keep in mind is that I think each book has been better than the previous one, so if you only like the first one a little, give the next one a chance. The author’s name is Anthony Horowitz (I just realized I left that out, March 18th, 2005)

A different kind of Monday

So you know how Mondays are: it’s the beginning of the week, it’s back to work, it’s raining and it’s cold and there is a board meeting so you have to be at work until 9 at night… So it was that same kind of day. Almost…

For one thing my presentation (technology update as to what we’ve been up to, what we’re doing and what we will be doing) to the board went very well and I even got a few questions the audience in addition to the questions from the board members.

Plus I got some other good news that I’ll tell you more about later since I haven’t even mentioned it to friends/family/co-workers yet and a few minor details hammered out still (so I’m going to hold it in for another day or three). But I’m very excited…

I recruited another member to the revolution…

That’s the TiVo-lution. Everyone loves TiVo, if you don’t it’s because you haven’t used one yet. I’m telling you, this will change the way you watch television. After 48 hours, Jennifer is now a TiVo-addict. She was excited this morning when she checked to see if it recorded her show in the middle of the night and was going home to see if it taped her other shows for her.

If you think you want one of these try it. If you don’t like it take it back. TiVo offers a 30 day trial on their web site.
