Busy Busy…

So it’s been a little busy lately. But too busy for blogging…? Here’s a quick update.

  • rearranging my living room some, trying to make some more room for watching the “tube”.
  • above rearranging should help with room for holiday decorating (i.e. tree).
  • if it actually snows this this week that’ll motivate with the tree.
  • finished three (yes 3) of the books I’ve been concurrently reading (Moneyball, A shortcut Through Time and _____). I’ll do some reviews later (yeah, right).
  • I found my misplaced copy of Cooking To Hook Up, which I should read. Coincidentally, the week after Thanksgiving has traditionally been a good dating week for me, so I should probably start studying… Don’t ask me why I remember this but I’ve noticed it more than once.
  • I got another 2,500 songs loaded up on my iPod. The hard part is now figuring out what parts of my collection is not on there.
  • Saw the Incredibles, very fun. I will review this soon…

    Is it Christmas yet?!?

    It was a relatively normal weekend but that stores/malls were packed. It’s not even Thanksgiving yet! And on the other had since I was there, and the sales were good I did by more than a few presents while I was out. Wasn’t my plan, but it’s nice to be ahead of the game!

    What else did I do this weekend…? Oh I had a five (5) hour meeting at work on Saturday, that’s where the day went.

    Otherwise I shopped, relaxed and slept. Right now I’m at the burger joint that has WiFi but it’s broken today :(

    In a minute second I’m outta here and off to see the Bourne Supremacy.

    Rats – I just realized I still need groceries too…

    A Birthday Story

    So do you remember A Christmas Story? Do you remember when Darren McGaven (aka the Night Stalker) won “a major award”? Well I got one for my birthday this weekend! It’s excellent! Mark bought it for me and he doesn’t even remember that part of the movie. He had it shipped to his work and everyone saw it (there’s a photo on the box) and everyone came over to ask about it (I used to work there so they all know me). The box was even marked FRAGILE. If you haven’t seen this movie it’s a must see. WGN usually runs it for 24 hours straight the day before Christmas (or is it Thanksgiving?).

    And did I tell you than it lights up the leg too!?!

    A very cool lamp. Although it’s not like it matches any of my stuff. I better be careful or I’ll poke my eye out….

    Snow Day!!!!

    There is snow outside this morning! I guess it’s not really a snow day since there is no school to not go to today, but it looks really nice outside. This ties into a previous (unmentioned) complaint about there being no snow and viewing everyones holiday lights outside. There’s not enough to make a snowman or anything but it looks like it’ll stick around so I can see the lights reflecting off the snow!

    But for those of you not around here or who have ever been to it, this means the Wayne County Lightfest, several miles of blocked off traffic along Hines Drive when you can see all kinds go animated festive lights. So load of the kids and get one over there! Sure, they’ve been doing it since Thanksgiving, but with no snow, why go??
