Thats with a railcard and pre booking though). As for accomodation in the bay? Hmm.... don't know, you'd be unlikely to find B&B's in that area though.

It's more comfortable than the bus, and the traffic in greater London will easily add time to your journey if you use a hire car (depending on the day and time... up to an hour!). The train will save you the exhaustion and frustration. I can't remember the name of the hotel I stayed in downtown (Golden Tulip?) but there are several smaller hotels near the central square that are (relatively) inexpensive and convenient.
