The Superior Spider-Man really is “superior”

There is a new Spider-Man in town and I think he’s acting superior to the old. Sometimes in an egotistical way, sometimes as a better hero, sometimes even as a better Peter Parker. It’s really a new take on being a hero (from someone who isn’t).

Amanda Palmer – This might be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen at a concert

I notice when they start this song Amanda Palmer heads to the side of the stage and I can see her putting on a dress. This dress has and extremely super long train. She then gets the security guys to pass her over to the crowd. As they carry her out above the […]

I started reading FreakAngels a few months ago, I thought Neil Gaiman mentioned it somewhere (but at this point I can’t find the reference), and if Neil mentions it, I’ve at least got to take a look at it. It’s a good series, it’s from the UK and feels like it. Lots […]

Here I sit outside my bed,
Lots of pressure in my head.

I really don’t feel so hot,
mostly due to all the snot.

It makes my head hurt so I can’t sleep,
It hurts my head so bad I want to weep.

I use my little netty pot,
But I’m so full, it’s just stops.

SItting up feels the best,
But that […]

Wow, I just saw this list today for the first time, and it’s got some amazing tidbits from the past. I was suprised I’ve read most of them, in their original form or in reprints.

Today is the last day to vote, but it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t look at […]

Neil Gaiman was speaking in Toledo tonight and I was able to go. Another cool birthday present that can be considered to be priceless, the cost of the item has nothing to do with the value of it.

He was part of an author series put on by the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library and the […]

I get a ridiculous amount of searches for “Neil Gaimen” on my site, but it’s spelled “Neil Gaiman” (sometimes I get some for “Neil Gaimon” too). This post is really just to help point people to the proper postings.

If you’re looking for stuff about Neil you can search this site […]

Harper Collins books has a free audio book for download. You can download A Study in Emerald from Neil Gaiman’s Fragile Things (one story from a book of short stories). And it’s read by Neil too!

Here is a direct link to the download […]

So Matt Smith is the new Doctor Who but we won’t see him until 2010. At 26 he’s the youngest Doctor Who although I’m guessing he’ll be a year older in 2010, but he is a time-lord so you never know…

The funny thing is that The Doctor generally uses “John Smith” when […]

So they’re releasing Comic Book Tattoo – Tales Inspired by Tori Amos which is, according to Tori’s blog:
a 480-page, full color anthology adapting the themes and ideas behind her songs into a lush volume of […]

So my philosophy in life is pretty much just to “be nice”.

Maybe ‘karma’ and ‘what comes around, goes around’ and ‘do unto others as you want to them to do unto you’ want you to do the same thing (“be nice”) but they try to make you fear what might happen if you don’t. […]

I’ve been trying to filter out some of the “stuff” at my house that I don’t use any more, today was the clothes closet. Some stuff will be bound for Goodwill / Salvation Army, some for the trash and a few things for the vacation pile (clothes that I take on vacation but […]

Uh oh! I just bid a maximum of 50 dollars instead of 50 cents on an eBay item! I sure hope not many other people bid on this item. At first I freaked since I thought that was my bid, and then I remembered it’d bid up to that amount. […]

Yesterday, I commented on how I haven’t heard much about Neil Gaiman being tied to the Stardust Movie even though he wrote the book. And I think that’s strange. Here’s something stranger, but shows you his diversity in projects: This album, called “

So I’ve been excited since I originally saw the preview for Stardust a few months ago and I got to see a preview of the movie a few weeks ago (the movie is out now). I really enjoyed the movie and the cast was great (Claire Danes, Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, […]

They’ve finally got the preview for Stardust up. This is based on the Neil Gaiman book of the same name. I’m thinking they’ve taken some liberties but it’s been a while since I read the book so maybe not.

This is what started me thinking about Neil Gaiman a few […]

So there’s a raffle at the Open Rights Group and one of the items is the keyboard that Neil Gaiman used to write most of his Sandman stories. It’s missing a key, but it’s autographed and for some reason he doesn’t think this would be a very cool prize. […]

So I know you’re thinking the winter holidays when I say gift certificates but really that’s not it. I’m thinking of my birthday which was ten weeks ago and that I finally just ended up spending the last of my gift certificates. And yes, I know that was ten weeks ago, but I didn’t want […]

So I’ve seen the preview trailer for Neil Gaiman’s Mirror Mask a few times now. It’s very surreal and if you have any idea who Dave McKean is you’ll look at the imagery and immediately think “Hey! That’s what it would look like if Dave McKean did the effects for a Neil […]

So I saw Flight Plan yesterday. I enjoyed it, I definitely wouldn’t have enjoyed the flight. Think Die Hard / Passenger 57 with Jodie Foster as the ultra smart airplane engineer (who has to consider the ideafact that she might be a little crazy) but there is no visible enemy. How do […]

So I went over to Mount Olivet Cemetery this weekend. It’s a huge cemetery in Detroit. Part of it’s on the other side of Outer Drive and there’s a little tunnel that connects the two sides. It’s where my grandparents (from my mother’s side) were buried and my grandfather’s sister and his parents […]
