You can be in a movie trailer!

So this is kinda different you can put yourself (and an optional friend) in the trailer for Wedding Crashers. You upload your photo and they superimpose it on Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Vince Vaughn, Isla Fisher or Christopher Walken. The move the mouth as it talks and everything. You just need a head shot and it crops out the background and everything. Plus you can save/e-mail it to your friends!

I’m not saying this is War of the Worlds special effects or anything, but it’s entertaining…

Pretty flowers

evanston flowersI found these lovely plants with their lovely reds and purples and greens. The were in a spot either welcoming me to Evanston or Northwestern’s Campus (or maybe the downtown Evanston area). They were just really bright and cheerful so I took a few photos :)

The photos didn’t come out as well as I’d like but you still get to see them since I liked them. The two that didn’t get thumbnailed are here and here

The Morning Light

We sat side by side in the morning light and looked out at the future together. So here’s another painted rock with a quote on it (click image to enlarge) that I saw down by Lake Michigan. As I was walking along all these rocks (which really means jumping precariously from rock to rock) I had the darn Avril song running through my head. It was really kinda sad as I’m reading these rocks with different inspiring and sad messages running through my head. There were some really great ones but they were too faded or just too difficult (lighting/angle/shadows) to get a photograph of.

Hello my name is…

Picture 10This is my name using Egyptian Hieroglyphs (supposedly). Does anyone know if this is really related to anything hieroglyphic? There are no references on the generating page to anything authentic. I’m seriously interested. I’m still thinking Egypt may be my next trip…

Time is Important

So as many of you may know, I value my time. Other than when I’m relaxing I like to be productive. I like the train ’cause I can get stuff done (fun or work). I always have a book so I’m not just waiting (I like reading), so I’m generally a patient waiter since I take the book to the doctor, meeting a friend for lunch, etc.

So James had this list of the value of time. I really liked these two (but he has more):

  • To realize the value of ONE MONTH, ask a mother who gave birth to a premature baby.
  • To realize the value of ONE HOUR, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
  • Rag Doll Physics

So this is a little disturbing, yet somehow compelling. Grab the doll and drag/throw it (or it’ll seem like much isn’t going on). Even when the screen refresh rate slows down it seems to keep the momentum (literally) going.

War of the Worlds – Review

WaroftheworldsaniWow!!! I was highly entertained. I did walk in with low expectations but still it was non-stop action and the effects were incredible!!! The plot was a little a lot thin: bad weekend Dad trying to outrun the destruction to save and bond with his kids at the same time. You can see the trailers at the Quicktime site. There’s an official web site but it’s way too busy (slow) with flash animations to be of any use.

They keep running through my head

And I don’t wanna fall to pieces
I just want to sit and stare at you
I don’t want to talk about it
    And I don’t want a conversation
I just want to cry in front of you

Fall To Pieces – Avril Lavigne

So these darn lyrics keep running through my head (they play this part of the song in the iTunes preview so listen if you have it). I don’t know why they keep resonating in my head and my heart lately. I can certainly relate to the feelings in general, but nothing in particular currenlty, which is why I’m confused that they keep coming up. And it’s just this part of the chorus that sticks, until I looked the lyrics up I never even noticed that the next line was “Cuz I’m in Love With you” although it was perfectly clear to me that there was some deep love that was friendship or romance.
