On The Radio…

So I heard on the radio something like “Pistons fans were really encouraged with the win from last night”. We’ll I would think so, wouldn’t they be down if they lost?!?

Fearless – The Series

Does anyone ever know what happened with the Fearless Televison series? I was watching TV last night and caught part of She’s All That with Rachel Leigh Cook and it reminded me of the TV series that was supposed to be semi-adopted from the books.

UPDATE: I did find the pilot on-line (if it’s busy, try again). Did they every air this?!?

The 4400

Only one more day until The 4400 return (again) to USA. I liked this series (although there were certainly portions that I didn’t like) but it had a X-files meets Taken kinda flavor. In case you never saw it, there was a UFO siting, a flash of light and all of a sudden 4400 alien abductees from the last 100 years were returned, same age, no memory of where there were and some have some new abilities (okay, so I left a few details out). It’s the whole secret behind the little girl and why were they all returned that interests me. They clearly left the series open for a sequel but most times they generally never get back around to doing it…

Book Tag. I’m It!

So I’ve been tagged with the book meme (list current books and favorite books and tag a few more people) from Dave over at Blogography.

How Many Books Do You Own? At least five-hundred. A complaint from the last time I moved was “who the hell taught you to read?”. The answer is probably my grandfather, who didn’t teach me to read but taught me to want to read.

What is the Last Book You Bought? Mindscan by Robert Sawyer. I have yet to read this one, so here’s some background on the author. He’s the canadian Michael Crichton, what does that mean? It means he’s awesome (I hope he likes MC) and he makes complicated science fun. He generally does more with connecting everything (science and religion and the mind and the universe) in a holistic way and making it all tie together. He’s entertaining, humorous and very knowledgeable.

Last night…

When I walked in last night I noticed the garage door closer opener made a funny noise. I thought maybe I didn’t pull the car in far enough but when I looked it seemed fine. You do see where this story is going, don’t you? Today when I opened the garage door it stopped just even with the back bumper. I’ve got a stupid ball hanging from a string so I pull up far enough and sure enough, I wasn’t up far enough. So now I’ve got a great big gouge in the back bumper (and two little ones). And I had done so well keeping this car in good shape so far. :(

$106 million!

Picture 23MegaMillions is up to $106 Million… Do I need to say anything more?!?

Just keep me in mind if you win! Especially if I’m what reminded you to buy a ticket…

Graduation again…

So it’s graduation time again. I kept thinking about last years graduation and how emotional it was. This year’s wasn’t as emotional but there was one speech where we didn’t think she was going to be able to finish. She caused a lot of eyes to be not-so-dry.

There really seemed to be an extra connection between the kids and the class as a whole. After listening and thinking about them I realized this was the group, that after a few weeks of just starting high school, that they experienced 9/11 together. I don’t know if that has anything to do with it or maybe it was a smaller group or maybe just one of those things but it was something I noticed…

Can I borrow a quarter?

Pick up line:

Can I borrow a quarter?
I need to call my mother and tell her I’ve found the girl I’m going to annoy for the next 5-10 minutes.

I just love McSweeneys
