My Five Fingered Shoes

So when I was last in Costa Rica I saw this guy wearing shoes similar to these.

I thought they were pretty cool so I asked him about them. They are called Vibram Five Fingers. I got these because they had the strap across them so they won’t fall off in the water.

They’re a little thin on the soles and I never go barefoot so I’ll have to see how these work for me.

  1. Never go barefoot??!! Said the Southerner incredulously. We were just talking about this at my party on Saturday, believe it or not. And we decided that wearing shoes all the time is definitely NOT a Southern thing. My feet are already working on their summer “Perma Crud”. LOL These little footy gloves are weird but I’ll be they are just like being barefoot! Ahhh! :-)

  2. Hi Gary! These look cute! But… weird. Why would people want to have such footwear? To have individual movement of your toes, I would guess for… rock climbing? Or is it to just feel like you’re barefoot, but not? :p

I love these. I now have these in a red pair and a yellow pair. I’ve got a black pair without the strap that are more causal, I miss the strap though, that’s what gives the support. And a thicker pair which I don’t like as much, but they’re too big, the sizing is different.
