The Torn-Up Credit Card Application

So when I get charge card applications in the mail I read them to make sure I don’t get some cool toy (or something) for signing up. And then I tear it in half (once, maybe twice), generally this is done as I’m cutting through the garage after I hit the mailbox, it never even makes it upstairs. This guy did an experiment: tearing up and taping back together and applying (he actually does a bit more than that so you’ll have to read it).

The end result for me: I think I need a shredder for the garage too…

  1. If they’ll accept taped apps, then shredding may not be sufficient. What you need is a burn bag! ;)
